10 Steps to Having a Perfect Snow-day!

All of us look forward to that text message or call telling us the magical news:  Snow Day:  So how can you make the most of your bonus day? Here are the 10 ways to have a perfect now day!

  1. Sleep in! – In my opinion, the best way to wake up is to the bright snow lighting, watching the flakes drift to the ground, wrapped up warm in a blanket- so the perfect way to start a snow day is in bed! A snow day is the perfect time to catch up on sleep that you’ve lacked during the busy week, so start your day by taking advantage of the cozy scenery and extra hours of rest.
  2. Cook your favorite breakfast! – After taking some time to relax and refresh, get your day off to a delicious start by cooking your favorite breakfast! Whether it be pancakes or waffles or eggs (oh my!), no snow day is complete without a fresh, home cooked breakfast. Snow days are the perfect opportunity to indulge in your favorite dishes that you likely don’t have time to prepare on a normal school day
  3. Go sledding/Build a snowman! – The next step to a perfect snow day is to take advantage of the wonders of the snow! Gather some friends, bundle up, and find the nearest hill and take advantage of the temporary, natural skate park! There’s no better, more exhilarating snow day activity then gliding down a snowy hill at top speed with your best friends. If your not up for a daredevil kind of dat, then spend some time enjoying the snow by creating a beautiful snowman that you can marvel at for the rest of the day.
  4. Take a hot shower! –After spending some time in the snow there’s no doubt you’ll be chilled to the bone, so the next characteristic of a perfect snow day is a nice hot shower. Spend a while enjoying the heat and warming up from your snowy adventures before throwing on your favorite lounging-around-outfit.
  5. Make hot chocolate! – In case you’re still not quiet warmed up yet, making a cup of hot chocolate is a key component of a comfy, cozy snow day. Spice up your hot chocolate by adding some toppings like marshmallows, peppermint, cinnamon, or whipped cream.
  6. Bake cookies! –What’s a cup of hot chocolate without some cookies to go along?! No snow day is truly complete without a good ol’ baking session. Grab some eggs some flour and some mix and whip up your favorite cookies to enjoy with a cup of chocolate as you watch the snow continue to fall.
  7. Watch your favorite movie! –After your snacks and drinks are all perfectly prepared, pick your favorite movie and curl up on the couch to enjoy! There’s no better way to enjoy a day in than with your favorite feel-good film.
  8. Order your favorite dinner! If the roads aren’t too bad, the next step to a perfect snow day is to order your favorite dinner. Instead of going out to brave to cold again, stay inside in the warmth and wait patiently for your favorite dish to reach your door!
  9. Binge your favorite Netflix show before bed! –After you’ve eaten and you’re feeling full and ready to unwind, the best way to wind down your snow day is by watching your favorite netflix show. Treat yourself to some binge watching before getting ready to hit the hay.
  10. Curl up with a good book and get to sleep early! – A perfect snow day ends the same way it began- with some rest and relaxation! Bring your perfect day to a close by grabbing your favorite book and laying in bed and reading until your eyes start to close. Now that your perfect day is over it’s time to get to sleep early and dream of your next perfect snow day!
