In October, MTV started airing new episodes of the once popular TV show, Beavis and Butt-Head. It was a very successful premiere with a total of 3.3 million viewers.
The show first aired in 1993 through 1997 on MTV. The show, though controversial, became iconic during its time and influenced many other shows such as South Park.
For those who haven’t seen it, Beavis and Butt-Head is a cartoon featuring two very socially awkward, opinionated teens whose main goal is to “score” with girls, which is basically impossible for them.
This show differs from any other. Just like every other cartoon, the main characters, Beavis and Butt-Head go about their day, causing havoc on one of their adventures. However, the episodes also feature scenes of Beavis and Butt-Head sitting on their couch watching TV. During this time, they watch and make humorous comments on music videos.
The show’s premise hasn’t changed much since it first aired over 15 years ago, but the duo now comments on current trends like new music videos or TV shows, like Jersey Shore and Teen Mom. Also, if you look close enough, you can see characters replacing the trends of the 90’s with more modern trends like Uggs and iPods.
Beavis and Butt-Head airs on Thursday nights at 10 pm.
