Go to the LC for DD

A lot of people have gotten used to getting their coffee there – they also have snacks such as Little Bites and pretzels because you can’t have coffee without a snack right? –  so what’s the scoop on VHS”s Learning Commons coffee bar?

The coffee bar opened in the beginning of the 2016-17 school year and since then they have made about $3,300. This is an impressive number since they sell coffee for only $1.

To work at the coffee bar, you have to be in the study hall that period and ask Mr. Thai, the Student Council adviser, if you are allowed to work it. There is also a schedule kept behind the counter that can be filled out by the students.

Many people have also wondered where the coffee comes from and will be happy to find out it is from Dunkin’ Donuts. The money that the coffee bar earns goes to the Student Council and they use it for various purposes, such as reimbursing students that bought decorations for Spirit Week. and purchasing another filtered water fountain because the students have loved the one they have installed already.

Unfortunately the food has been banned in the Learning Commons because there was an issue with ants, but they are still making good money with just drinks. Now that people know the inside scoop, if you are ever in need of a coffee, you can save the time and expense of going to DD.  You can get Dunkin’ coffee from the LC and support VHS and the Student Council.
