It’s officially nearing the end of October and you know what that means… Halloween!

Besides costume parties, carving pumpkins, and watching horror movies, one of the most popular activities on Halloween is trick-or-treating. And eating loads, I mean LOADS of candy!

Who doesn’t love chocolates, gummies, and lollipops? These sweet treats are a staple of Halloween, however, are not good at all for your health. Most popular candies contain high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, MSG, artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners.

Although there’s no real “healthy” answer to Halloween, there is good news! There are all kinds of “healthier” alternatives to these iconic Halloween treats, and they’re just as (if not more) delicious!

Here are my top 5 “healthy” Halloween candies:

1. Unreal Chocolate Gems

These M&M look alikes are free from all the major allergens and contain no-nonsense ingredients!

2. Cocomels Caramels

Made from coconut milk, these caramels are dairy-free, available in a variety of flavors, and contain 30% less sugar than any other candy.

3. Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups

These peanut butter cups are next level; a combination of the best tasting organic peanut butter in the world enveloped in Rainforest Alliance certified chocolate. They have the same amount of calories as a Reese’s, but less sugar!

4. Zollipops

These lollipops may be sweet, but are actually anti-cavity! Ingredients like Xylitol and Erythritol work to reduce the acidity in your mouth, so these suckers are certainly dentist-approved.

5. Clif Kid ZFruit Ropes

They’re just like Twizzlers, but made with 100% organic real fruit!
