Verona Tennis Joins Forces With Nike

Every year, millions of pairs of athletic shoes are thrown away, clogging landfills and wasting good material.

But thanks Reuse-A-Shoe, Nike is breathing new life into old athletic shoes by turning them into something new: high quality sports surfaces where athletes of all ages can play. Thanks to Reuse-A-Shoe, many cities and towns around the world have been the recipients of sport surfaces like basketball courts, athletic fields, running tracks, and playgrounds for children. The Verona High School tennis team is trying to add Verona, New Jersey to that list by sponsoring the Reuse-A-Shoe program.

The goal is to raise 500 pairs of athletic shoes (sneakers, any brand) beginning October 20 through November 10. Shoes can be turned into barrels at every school in the district, as well as an additional barrel at the October 29, 2011 home football game.

Help to turn your old kicks into new places to play your game!
