For the first time since 2011, the Verona High School store is now open to all students after school and during study hall.

The store is a student-run organization, advised by Business teachers Mrs. Salisbury and Mrs. Burke.

The store provides students with drinks and snacks such as chips, lollipops, water and Gatorade. Apparel and accessories are also being sold at the store, such as t-shirts, hats, and lanyards.

The students enjoy the school store because it allows them to get food during the day. Since the Learning Commons no longer sells food, this is the perfect place for students to purchase a quick snack.

Junior, Gabi Montagna, noted that, “The school store is perfect place for me to get food before a soccer practice!”

It can also be seen in the VHS hallways that students are wearing the apparel that is being sold out of the store.

According to Mrs. Salisbury, founder of the school store, business was able to start up again because of the DECA club starting back up. The DECA club is a business club that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

Mrs. Salisbury also stated that they are trying to expand the merchandise that is being sold. Right now, most of the clothing that is available has been donated by Mr. McElroy from the basketball team.

For food and drinks priced between $1-2 and the apparel being sold for up to $30, the school store provides the students of VHS with a way to relieve the stress of a long day of school or grab some new Hillbilly gear!
