Mrs. Tina Liu Han, Chinese culture educator, visited the Mandarin classes where she demonstrated and instructed the Mandarin students in Chinese calligraphy. She also played the GuQin (a Chinese ancient string music instrument) in class.
Mrs. Han explained that Chinese scholars require the knowledge and skill for GuQin, Go chess (a strategic board game), Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting.
Mrs. Han worked with the Mandarin classes and was impressed by students’ overall performance. Students appreciated her visit and were grateful for this cultural, hand-on experience.
