Seniors ’12 Kick the Bucket

The class of 2012 is in the process of finishing their senior video, which this year revolves around the theme of a “bucket List.” In this case the bucket list isn’t a list of things to do before you “kick the bucket,” but instead is a list of things to do before graduation.

The class of 2012 is known as the “nice class,” claims senior Dayna DellaValle, who as member of the Broadcast Journalism class is involved with creating the video.  “So we wanted the video to prove that we are not lame, but in the end all we proved is that we are,” Dayna said.

Although the seniors who made the film were reluctant to give away too many details, they did say that each scene starts off with a group of seniors who are trying be troublemakers, but are not successful.  The film makers feel like this reflects the graduating class, who has never had a reputation as troublemakers.

Some ideas on the bucket list are painting the street, disturbances in class, a food fight, senior skip day, and graduation.

“We are just the nice class trying to be bad,” said Matt Tuorto.

“I believe the senior video is a great thing because it involves all the seniors,” said Matt Tuorto. The seniors are trying to be filmed into this 30-35 minute video.

Seniors Eric Kaptein and Kris Jones played huge roles in filming this video. “After a month and a half of shooting and editing the film, it is finally looking good,” said Eric.

The first official showing of the video will be at the senior banquet. With Mr. Cesa’s approval, the video will also be shown in the auditorium on the last two days of school to all of the underclassmen.  There is also QR code in the back of the yearbook this year.  When a picture is taken with a smartphone that has a QR code reader (which are free to download) the person will be linked to a portion of the video stored online.  This new yearbook feature means the video will be available to seniors forever!
