The VHS community suffered a great  loss recently with the passing of  Mr.  Arthur Acquaviva, the long-time Library Media Specialist, at Verona High School after a long illness.

“Mr. A.” as he was known fondly to students, was a VHS graduate himself as well as a township resident.  He first worked as a substitute teacher at VHS, and  later taught math and science before assuming the role of media specialist.

Mr. A was also a professional photographer, and  for a time covered  VHS sports teams for the yearbook.

In his honor, the Verona Education Association will be giving a scholarship this year that will be designated as the “Art Acquaviva Memorial Future Educator Scholarship.”
